Interesting Facts about Halloween Horror Nights

Halloween Horror Nights began at Universal Orlando in 1991 under the title "Fright Nights" but was re-christened Halloween Horror Nights in 1992, advertising it as the "second annual." It began as a 3 night event but has since evolved into a 23-night scare-a-thon spanning late September through the first weekend of November. Although it normally only operates from Thursday to Sunday, an occasional Wednesday occurs during what scare actors dub "Hell Week", known for its large crowds and the increase of alcohol related incidents.

From 1991-2001, the event was held at Universal Studios Florida. Halloween Horror Nights moved to Universal's Islands of Adventure (IOA) in 2002. In 2004, the park experimented with a dual park format, which opened parts of both parks. Guests were funneled through backstage areas and the soundstages, where most of the haunts are built. In 2006, the event made a return to Universal Studios Florida where the event continued through its 18th year in 2008. Each year's event, though unique, has certain characteristics in common with other years; these include haunted houses, shows, scare zones, event icons, and event phrases.

Among the respondents the maximum preference which was given by the adults was witch which was rated by 14.9% of the people, pirate was ranked second with 4.4 percent, followed by vampire, cat, fairy and political figure. As far as the preference for the children is concerned princess, which, Hannah Montana, Spider man and other star wars characters.

Fine imposed on companies for selling dangerous kids clothes

Nine companies were fined a total of $355000 by the Consumer product Safety Commission for selling children's clothes with drawstrings, which are hazardous. Dozens of kids have passed away in the last two decades as there drawstrings was caught in the playground equipment.

A 2 - year old boy San Jose died as the drawstring of his sweat shirt stuck in the slide of his day care center. There have also been cases reported for the death of the children because of the drawstrings enclosed on the waist.

Since 2006 children's coats, sweatshirts and jackets which have drawstrings have been considered to be defective. The commission fined the companies for they had not notified the commission for the sale of clothes made of drawstrings.

So stop using costumes made of drawstrings.
